Our Non-Traditional Sports Summer Camp Program is so fun and interesting that your kids won't want to leave.  We offer such a wide array of Ultimate Games and Traditional Favorites that every camper can find success, feel valued, and have a smile on their face all day long.

We consider our camp structure to be a Non-Traditional Sports Camp because our primary team activities, or Ultimate Games, have modified rules and implements designed to include and empower any level of athlete.  There is a role for everyone who makes the effort to play, and that makes for a special atmosphere of teamwork, social interaction and group enthusiasm.  It also allows us to teach our message with great effectiveness, because competition can bring out the worst in anyone.  Finally, the fun factor is high at Bald Eagle because several of our games aren't found at any other camp in the world, and the kids will appreciate it!

Camp Facilities
Our camp is located at beautiful Mountain View Academy close to downtown Mountain View.  The MVA campus is first class and we've reserved the entire Athletic Facility as well as the art and rec room.  This site is perfect for summer camp with shaded areas and a top-notch Swim Facility right across the street at Eagle Park, which we also use for our pool time.

Camp Format
Each camper will be a part of a Team that is determined by age group.  Each team has a *Certified Double Goal Coach and Assistant Coach that will be with your camper for the entire week.  Double Goal Coaches and Assistant Coaches are what separates Bald Eagle Camps from the competition.  The top priority for our coaches is to bond with the kids so that each camper feels connected to their team, encouraged to be their best, and inspired to make a difference with their own life. Bob McFarlane, Founder and Executive Director, has a unique background in PE, Special Education, and 25+ years of coaching which helps him create an optimal environment for everyone to feel included and successful.

Camp Message

The immeasurable depth that comes from our camp is established by an organization who is national in scope and has been awarded for it's positive impact on youth sports cultures.  Our Certified Double Goal Coaches will be implementing in the Positive Coaching Alliance Tools of being a Triple-Impact Competitor. Our teaching revolves around 3 main areas: Self, Team, and Life.  We teach campers the concepts that PCA has forumlated from research and best practices of the top coaches in the nation.  Outside of camp, PCA nationally runs workshops for Triple Impact Competitors teaching the qualities inherent to true competitors in life and on the court.  At Bald Eagle, we take the TIC workshop and apply those principles and tools across our entire camp session.  Another way to say it is that Positive Coaching Alliance is the umbrella across everything we do at Bald Eagle Camps.  If you are unfamiliar with what an amazing organization PCA is, please read our PCA page or visit their site at www.positivecoach.org.

Camp Day
Campers will participate together with their team for some activities while having a choice for others. Campers have 3 activities in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.  Two-thirds of camp time is with their team doing group activities, with one-third of camp time spent in personal choice or whole camp activities.  During personal choice periods, campers can choose from Traditional Sports, Games, Arts & Crafts, Swimming, etc.  Activities are primarily recreational, but there will be some instruction given to initiate games so campers have the basis for skills they have never tried.

Camp Activities
The structured team games in our multi-sports camp are centered on Movement Training rather than skill development.  We know that building better balance, footwork, hand-eye coordination and core strength will have a positive impact in a childs ability to do any sport.  The personal choice periods are led by coaches who can give fundamental instruction in those areas, so everyone gains a basis for development.

We partner with FIT (Focused Individualized Training) of Los Altos to run segments in our camp.  FIT brings a unique combination of FUN drills based on research and latest practices in the industry of youth fitness.  Campers will be inspired to lead a more active and fit life, because we show them that it can be FUN!
