"Coach Bob, just wanted to let you know how much Blake enjoyed himself at the Ultimate Holiday Camp. He slept like a rock every night after camp and was ready to go back the next day. Thanks for making my life that much easier. See you at Open Gym..."

Robby LOVED the camp! He will definitely be there this summer!

Our nine-year old son has had a terrific time at the Winter Recess Ultimate Mini-Camp and the Shoot Out the Lights clinics. Bob provides terrific instruction mixed with fun and a very positive atmosphere. We asked Bob if he could run a Bald Eagle Birthday Party. The party was a huge success with fourteen boys enjoying non-stop sports and activities for 2 hours. We think it was the best party that we have thrown and the easiest one for us. We enthusiastically recommend any of the Bald Eagle programs.

My initial intention of attending Bald Eagle Camps was to improve my boys’ basketball skills and get them some exercise. I was so impressed with the camp and the director, Bob McFarlane, that I approached Bob to work privately with my boys. His Private Trainings have not only been phenomenal at developing better basketball skills, they have somehow gained a deeper passion for the game itself. Coach Bob is very demanding and challenges the boys to reach their potential, but he does it in a way that inspires them to push themselves in every drill. His knowledge of the game is exceptional, but his years as a Special Ed teacher really show in his ability to help my boys to understand “the why” behind everything he asks them to do. They have not only grown as players, but as young men, by their association with Bob and Bald Eagle Camps. I cannot give a higher recommendation.

"My son has gotten more confidence in his skills due to the encouragement and coaching by coach Bob. Bob's style of coaching is very effective since he is very engaging and skillful. Bob is firm and tough yet encouraging when getting the kids to practice good sportsmanship. My son looks forward to attending more camps with coach Bob."
Bob McFarlane is an amazing basketball coach. Bob was our son's junior varsity high school coach for two years and our son also received private skills instruction from Bob this past summer. Bob is a skilled basketball player and coach and an excellent teacher and communicator. We have seen our son's skills grow immeasurably under Bob's tutelage. This last summer Bob worked with our son extensively on his shooting, rebounding and positioning. This assistance has prepared our son well for his high school varsity season.
Bob is an incredibly thoughtful person who gets to know every boy as an individual and who develops a relationship with each one. He seems to pull the best traits out of each player, in terms of their playing skills on the court and their personalities off the court. Bob keeps practices lively, interesting and fun. All his players seem to love him, and that is because even though Bob drives them hard, the kids know they are learning a great deal and they are treated with respect. Bob's excellent sense of humor, and his ability to keep things funny and interesting results in a strong rapport between the coach and all his players.
At our first meeting, Bob talked to the parents about his positive philosophy of coaching and how his goals for the boys was to focus on their growth as people and teammates and that winning games was secondary. Well, Bob actually does coach in an extremely positive way, making the boys feel good about themselves, their effort and contributions. I have noticed that Coach McFarlane does have a competitive streak and winning games is quite important. Our son thrived under Bob McFarlane's coaching program, and we are so grateful that he had that wonderful experience during his high school years.

The Bald Eagle Camp is a great experience for kids because it is a wholly different format. The kids spend 20% of their time learning techniques and skills and then 80% of the time applying those skills in a game, setting rather than the other way around. This works because the kids learn something new and have a great opportunity to apply this new skill. Furthermore they have a lot of fun because they spend more time doing what they want to do most: play basketball. My son has really taken off and incorporated all these new skills into his game. More importantly he likes playing basketball more. I’m a huge fan of this format, and the Director Bob McFarlane, and will continue to send my son to as many sessions as I can.
